Here are some picture of the Universal Studios park. We took in a couple of shows, including a Beetlejuice themed musical review and a surprisingly great animal show. The day ended with a movie vignette showing clips from 100 years of Universal films timed to music and fireworks. You forget how many good movies this studio put out.
I think Jeff and Jasmines fav ride was the mummy indoor rollcoaster thrill ride with a crazy amount of real and simulated effects.
While reading up on Universal from a guidebook – I heard good things about the Bubba Gump restaurant. The place was cleverly adorned with themed decor. The waiter even played movie trivia with me – with some helpful hints I got most of them correct.
Jasmine and I got our shrimp on!
We stayed at the onsite Universal hotel Royal Pacific. Palm tress, tropical flowers and frog motifs amid views of the pools and lagoon. Jasmine gave two thumbs up for the swimming features. They had a live DJ, hourly games and evening movies.
Best of all, there is a water taxi to the parks – a fun and relaxing ride in itself – often with a captain ready to tell some nautical jokes.
After years of anticipation – the stars aligned with our schedules to allow us to go visit Universal Studios in Florida. And the new Harry Potter Diagon Alley just opened this summer!
We were an excited bunch on travel day.
0HSU is one of the leading medical facilities teaching hospitals in the United States. It expands quite a bit around Portland and the employees needed an easier way to get from the research facilities on the waterfront to the main hospital on the hill.
So the aerial tram was built. It’s become a part of the Portland skyline but more importantly a tourist attraction.
Jasmine and I had an opportunity to ride on it and here are some pictures and some pretty good selfies we took on ‘our ride’.
I will say, if you have a severe fear of heights this is probably not a transportation option for you.
