Bloomin’ Onion.

Once a decade it becomes necessary to have a bloomin’ onion. Jeff and I were over due and decided to introduce Jasmine to the faux Australian experience that is The Outback.

The biggest surprise was not the ridiculous size of the fried appetizer, but that Jasmine ordered something other than chicken strips. She had a rack of baby back ribs and may never be the same again.

2015 Tolkien Festival

“Elves, wizards, orcs and all others are invited to join in this all-day celebration of J.R.R. Tolkien, one of the 20th Century’s most influential authors. We’ll have live music, The Lord of the Rings trilogy in the theater (for a suggested donation of 2 cans of food for the Oregon Food Bank), Hobbit-themed food and drink specials and more!”
– McMenamins Kennedy School

We got there around 10am to get seats – the theater was already quite full. We ordered some ‘hobbit’ snacks and got ready to enjoy the first movie at 11am. Afterwords we’ll headed over to the Gymnasium to watch the Hobbit Live Radio show. At 4pm we were tired out and ready to go home.

Some day we plan to stay and watch all three movies. Still it was a very good day.

Color my Hair

Over the winter my mom and I went to the store and got dye. To be exact purple dye. We got the dye because of course I wanted to dye my hair to see what it’s like.

To dye my hair my mom had to bleach it first. The bleaching process took about 45min. When we finished with bleaching my hair it was really blonde, well the bottom half anyways. But by the time we did finish I had to go to bed. So my mom told me that tomorrow we would actually dye my hair purple.

So the next day came and my mom told me to come into the bathroom so I did. My mom had a towel on the sink, gloves on each hand and a dye bottle grasped in one of the gloved hands. When my mom finished dyeing my hair she told me to wait 45 min. before taking a shower. 45 min. passed and when I took a shower purple dye trailed off of my legs. It looked really cool.
