Quinceañera

We got invited to our neighbors Quinceañera. A quick web search told me this was a ceremony on a girl’s fifteenth birthday to mark her passage to womanhood, to give thanks to God for his blessings, and to present a young woman to the community.

It was all in Spanish, so I can’t relay too much of what was happening. But it certainly looked and felt special. And the cake was delicious.

English Outing

Knowing me to be a big Dr. Who fan, Jeff felt it was important to bring me to the Fish and Chip shop to see all of the memorabilia. It had nothing to do with him wanting more fried fish. (Apparently the best anywhere in the greater Portland area).

While the beans on toast was disappointing (I make a much better version), the ambiance of the place is not to be missed. Never thought to ask for a cup of tea. Will do so next time.
