Art of the Story

My library system puts on a story telling festival each year. Jasmine and I went to the final show, where the top contenders performed. There are couple rules for the speakers. The story has to be true, it has to be from their personal life, and it has to fit into a time limit. The topics ranged from humor, history, happenstance, and tragedy.

Earthquakes

I went to a scary but fascinating lecture on how natural disasters have shaped history – particularly earthquakes – from a scientist with over 30 years of experience – Dr. Lucy Jones. She wrote the book “The Big Ones: How Natural Disasters Have Shaped Us and What We Can Do About Them”.

Little Man Art

While I was shopping for new decor for my place, I found this canvas that had my cat’s name on it, so I had to get it. I don’t understand the whole tie thing, but I like the colors and patterns.

My cat doesn’t seem to care one way or another.
