We took a long weekend to visit my grandparents in Tucson. My mom Karen and stepdad Ted who were also visiting, graciously offered us to stay with them. They had found a wonderful desert retreat complete with welcoming coyotes howling in the night.
As the sparrow goes to Capistrano, so do Jeff and I…. to Apple Festival Day. We go there to pick out pumpkins and buy that prize of all apples Honey Crisps. To pet the piglets and take a hayride, to gaze at the spectacular foliage and… oh, who am I kidding, we go every year to get the fresh made caramel apples! So good…. so very, very good….
Who can resist the temptation of seeing a parade? We sure can’t. We headed to downtown Beaverton to wander the farmers market and then grab a good street corner to view the hour plus long parade. Note to self: next time bring some cute kids so as to collect the plentiful candy being thrown to the crowd.
