We topped off my parent’s great visit with a trip to the Washington Park Rose Garden. An eyeful of vibrant colors and a soft flowery aroma pervaded our senses.
A nice ending to a great week. We miss each other already…
The big event. The year nine birthday. It went down at John’s Incredible Pizza. In attendance were Grace, Destiny (parents Patti and Brian), Ella (parent Beth) and Jasmine (parents Jeff and Emily; grandparents Lynn and Rachel).
We ate too much food, played lots of games, and smiled alot – a success I think.
Starting off Jasmine’s big birthday was a trip to the mall. We got some some Sears portraits done which you will see in the next post.
We ate a great lunch at the Cheesecake factory. The guacamole appetizer looked to be actually home made. And the servers all sang ‘happy birhtday’ to Jasmine. We enjoyed our food – but I would say it is very loud there. We have a theory that the tall ceilings and whatever material they are made of amplify sound.
After lunch, we went to get Jasmine’s ear’s pierced. I believe this was Rachel’s idea, she has been wanting to get this done ever since Jasmine’s fifth birthday.
My favorite stop on my ‘Jeff coast tour’ is taking visitors to the Tillamook Diary. Watching the workings of the cheese factory and then getting ice cream cones while all the while taking in the warm aroma of waffle cones is very satisfying.
Jasmine got two scopes – one of chocolate and you guessed it chocolate again. We tried to convince her to mix it up – she said no – this will do for her. My dad and I got a scope of rootbeer float – to continue our rootbeer theme. My second scope was black cherry and dad got vanilla.
On the way out, Jasmine did some improv dancing to work of those sugars.
