We went to a couple holiday outings today with Grandma Carolyn and Uncle John. Our first stop, a local farm, was very windy. They had train rides, a petting zoo, hay rides, christmas tree harvesting, and a concession stand with very needed hot chocolate and hot cider. Next up was a yummy lunch at a festive mainstreet soup/sandwich shop. And then off to an indoor holiday bizarre with lots of decorated trees and kids activities such as face painting.
Good food, good talk, good time. That sums up our festive Thanksgiving Day with Emily’s family. Oh, and Jasmine had a blast playing with all the kids. Thanks so much to the gracious hosts Joy and Jamie.
The stables where Jasmine got her horse riding lesson had many friendly cats. So in the spirit of our blog – Cats That Fetch – we got some photos.
Uncle John and girlfriend Lisa had a special gift for Jasmine – a horse lesson. Lisa has been riding horses for many years. Uncle John recently started learning. Jasmine really enjoyed the experience, and we all had fun watching.
Thanks to Emily’s expert web searching, we discovered a local Maryland dairy with a special holiday train experience – in miniature. So many cute trains and intricate towns all decked out in holiday cheer was quite a site. They also had 3D glasses which made lights turn into different shapes from stars to bells. Very cool.
We ended our trip with scoops of homemade ice cream. Jasmine had chocolate which as usual ended up all over her face, hands, and jacket. Lucky for us, Grandma Carolyn got her cleaned up.
